Therapy

Every child is checked for physical health, eyesight, and teeth, so why not emotional and mental health?

Congratulations on taking the first step with Tiny Trust Talks!

About Me

I'm Bhoomi Shah, a dedicated Counselling Psychologist and Play Therapist, holding an MSc in Clinical Psychology from Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore, and a Diploma in Play Therapy from Play Therapy UK.

I love to bond and tune in with children and adolescents. I'm highly passionate about working with them, and they have taught me to appreciate the little things in life. I'm trained in conducting behavioral assessments and counseling. I have worked with many different children and adolescents, gaining valuable experience to support their specific needs. Through the power of play, I offer a safe, supportive environment where children can express themselves freely, build resilience, and develop essential life skills.

When I’m not out there, you will find me reading a book, playing badminton, or taking long walks admiring nature and the sky. I find deep conversations incredibly fulfilling and meaningful.

confused

Maybe you have been feeling confused, angry, or sad.

Maybe you feel full of worries about what might happen or what has happened to you before.

Maybe you have some very big feelings inside you that are hard to understand.

Sometimes, these painful thoughts and complicated feelings can get in the way of making or having fun with friends or being able to concentrate on schoolwork or sports skills.

Sometimes, these thoughts and feelings can get in the way of sleeping well, thinking clearly, or feeling happy and relaxed.

Sometimes, these big feelings can spill out as actions that might upset you and the people around you or get you into trouble.

As a Play Therapist, I am trained to work with children and adolescents going through times like these to help them understand what has been happening, how they are feeling, and what that means. I use a wide range of art and play materials, so there is no need to talk if you don’t want to and no need to be asked questions.

Isn't it odd? We can only see our outsides, but nearly everything happens on the inside.” The most significant things, like thoughts and feelings, happen on the inside, hidden from view. It reminds us that understanding someone goes beyond what meets the eye. Thus, I work at a pace comfortable to the child. Remember, it's not meant to be long-term.
